We had a great conversation with Kevin Mambo on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about so many things from family, acting, his career, he told some great stories to a whole lot more!

Kevin Mambo can currently be seen on the new Netflix drama, Hit & Run. The series tells the story of a man searching for the truth behind his wife’s death who becomes caught up in a dangerous web of secrets and intrigue stretching from New York to Tel Aviv. Mambo plays an NYPD detective with a wry sense of humor who has seen it all and nothing can phase him.

He is no stranger to the small screen. Mambo had large roles on hit series such as Luke Cage and High Maintenance. He is also a two-time Daytime Emmy winner from his leading role on the long-running soap opera Guiding Light. Other film and television credits include Cadillac Records, Nina, Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Blacklist, and Elementary just to name a few.

Mambo has added to his repertoire with a very impressive list of on-stage roles. He played the title character in the Tony Award nominated Fela!, and brought his talent to the role of Mafala in Book of Mormon. He was also seen in the revival of The Color Purple and The Public Theater’s Fortress of Solitude.

1) Was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

2) Currently resides in New York City

3) Is an avid musician, who learned to play piano, saxophone, and guitar at a young age

4) Studied at the McGill Jazz Conservatory then transferred to the University of Southern California where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

5) Appeared in the Billie Holiday Theatre production of Jackie Alexander’s Brothers from the Bottom opposite Wendell Pierce.

6) Appeared off-Broadway in Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Ruined at the Manhattan Theatre Club and at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago

7) Played Chancellor in Danai Gurira’s The Convert (directed by Emily Mann)
