We had a great conversation with Brennley Brown today on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about so many things from God, family, music, parents, passion, struggles & so much more. Click the play button to listen to the podcast.

When you look at BrennleyBrown’s hit list, it’s easy to see why Guitar Girl Magazine said she has “accomplished more than some twice her age.” Brown has been performing for a living since she was in single digits; sang the national anthem for the opening of the US Open three years in a row before she was twelve; and has been performing every year at CMA Fest since her mid-teens. Bustle described her as “so mature and beyond her years in skill and quality that it was difficult not to have your mind blown just watching her go,” whilst Taste of Country lauded her for “a knockout performance that exhibited control and diversity in her voice.” However, perhaps Blake Shelton said it best when he extolled to her that “You are doing what you were born to do, no question about it.” Her single ‘Keep Coming Back’, just dropped, marking her highly anticipated debut as an independent singer songwriter. A debut that, even though it is being made before her eighteenth birthday, still feels like it can’t arrive soon enough.

In the brief time before she started making music, Brennley Brown was constantly immersed in it. Growing up on a ranch in Apple Valley, California, she was fed a steady diet of traditional country sounds by her father. “As we drove in his truck we would listen to Waylon Jennings and Dolly Parton,” she explains, “they’re still in my sound, influencing the stories I want to tell through my music today.” At age five, bedecked in a pink cowgirl outfit, she took to the stage for the first time at her school’s talent show.

However, music quickly became so much more than a hobby. “My mom was diagnosed with cardiac lyme disease,” Brown recounts, “Music became a sanctuary, a safe place. It was a healing for both my mom and I, it’s something we could do together.” Around this time, she began performing at open mics in the Los Angeles area, where she was scouted by a vocal contractor for Disney. Before she knew it, Brennley was working regularly as a singing voiceover actor. Her list of credits racked up fast, including highlights such asplaying Lily in the Emmy Award-Winning children’s series ‘Sofia the First’.

After Brennley had spent a few years visiting Nashville on a monthly basis, something happened that changed everything. Nationally televised singing competition ‘The Voice’ lowered their age restrictions, allowing teens as young as fourteen to audition. Although initially trepidatious, Brennley tried out and flourished in the competition. “I made it to the top five in the finals,” Brennley recalls, “I was the youngest highest charting artist in the history of the show. It helped shaped me into the artist I am today and was a valued steppingstone in my journey. After that I wrote my little tush off for three years,” she jokes, “working hard in Nashville to build community, pouring my all into developing as an artist”

Her single ‘Keeping Coming Back’ showcases the voice that an audience of millions learned to love; a musical style that echoes vintage country, but never feels bound by it; and a degree of lyrical prowess that marks Brown out as ready for the Billboard. “It’s about my musical journey thus far,” Brennley explains, “Everybody, I believe, is given a gift by God, a dream and calling. No matter what the obstacles are, with His help, you keep coming back to it.” With her authentic approach and an eye for detail, Brennley Brown has proven time and again that she is no flash in the pan. Following a slew of recent gigs opening for artists such as Tim McGraw, Dwight Yoakum, Hayley Orrantia, and Keith Anderson; singing prominentlyat faith festivals Harvest America and Harvest SoCal; not to mention her recent success as a core cast member “Leyla” on Netflix’s ‘Dragons: Rescue Riders’, her new single will be the loadstone in a career that the world will likely be enjoying for decades to come.

“I’m so excited for people to hear what’s coming next.”
