We had a great conversation with JayQ The Legend on The Chris & Sandy Show.. We talked about many things from family, music, entertainment, sacrifices, he told some great stories to a whole lot more! He was able to talk about the perspective from a co-founder of Breakout Music and also from an artist perspective.
Born in St. Croix and raised in New Orleans, JayQ The Legend (TL) grew up surrounded by music. A survivor of an abusive childhood, he earned his law and MBA degrees to protect and mentor others. JayQ The Legend worked with many southern artists to ink record deals, and provided legal counsel to others, including DMX, Baby Joe and TEC.
A poet and prolific songwriter, JayQ TL co-founded BreakOut Music and kicked off his solo music career with his hit Body Talk, that hit #1 on the Billboard Reggae Charts, and continues to sustain US radio play for 3 years post- release in both Urban and R&B formats. Four of his recent 2020/21 music videos have been featured on MTV and BET-JAMS.
As a screenwriter and actor, his first movie (“The App that Stole Christmas”) for Holiday 2020 was licensed to Netflix, and features several of his records. The movie reached approximately 20 million US households. An avid aviator, JayQ TL earned his commercial pilot license primarily for ease of work-related travel across the southern USA.
